1. General

By booking a class, treatment, retreat, or any other service with This Is The Place MCR, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These apply to all customers regardless of how a booking is made.

2. Bookings

All classes, massage treatments, and tarot sessions must be booked in advance through the online booking system. Spaces are limited and booking does not guarantee a place until confirmed. This Is The Place MCR reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any session due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to illness, venue issues, or insufficient bookings. In such cases, customers will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

Drop-in class purchases and class passes are non-refundable but may be transferable to another session at our discretion. Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

4. Late Arrivals

Out of respect for other students and the flow of the class, latecomers may not be admitted once a session has begun. If you are running late please contact us in advance where possible.

5. Health & Wellbeing

It is your responsibility to inform your teacher of any injuries, medical conditions, or physical limitations before class or treatment. This Is The Place MCR and its teachers accept no liability for injury or illness arising from failure to disclose relevant health information. If you are pregnant, have recently had surgery, or have a condition that may be affected by physical activity or massage, please seek medical advice before booking.

Participation in all classes and physical activities is entirely at your own risk.

6. Accessibility

This Is The Place MCR is located on the second floor of 761 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury. Please be aware that there is currently no lift access to the studio. We are committed to making our classes and treatments as accessible as possible and encourage anyone with mobility requirements, disabilities, or access needs to contact us prior to booking at katie@thisistheplacemcr.com so we can discuss how best to support you.

  Where possible, we will make reasonable adjustments to accommodate individual needs, including adapting class content, positioning, and the use of props and equipment. No one should feel excluded — if you are unsure whether a class or treatment is suitable for you, please get in touch and we will do our best to help.

 

7. Massage Treatments

All massage treatments are carried out by a qualified Swedish massage therapist. Treatments are therapeutic in nature. This Is The Place MCR reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a treatment at any time if it is deemed inappropriate or unsafe to continue. A brief consultation will take place prior to your first treatment.

8. Class Passes & Pricing Plans

Class passes and pricing plans are valid for the period stated at the time of purchase. Passes are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person unless agreed in writing. [Flag for Kate — confirm expiry periods for passes.]

 

9. Gift Cards

eGift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can be used against any class, treatment, or service available on the website. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-refundable.

 

10. Retreats

Retreat bookings require a deposit at the time of booking with the remaining balance due by a date confirmed at the time of purchase. Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations made within [Flag — insert notice period] of the retreat date will forfeit the full balance. This Is The Place MCR strongly recommends that all retreat attendees take out appropriate travel insurance. We accept no liability for travel disruption, personal injury, or loss of property during retreat events.

 

11. Studio Hire

The studio is available for hire subject to availability. Hirers are responsible for leaving the space in the condition it was found. Any damage to equipment or the studio will be charged to the hirer. Full studio hire terms will be provided separately upon enquiry.

12. Code of Conduct

This Is The Place MCR is a welcoming, inclusive space. We ask all students, clients, and visitors to treat each other and our teachers with respect. We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone whose behaviour is deemed disruptive, inappropriate, or harmful to others.

13. Photography & Social Media

Please ask permission before photographing or filming other students or teachers in the studio. Any content shared on social media that features This Is The Place MCR should tag us appropriately. We reserve the right to use photographs taken at our studio for promotional purposes — if you would prefer not to be included please let us know.

14. Liability

This Is The Place MCR accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings brought onto the premises. Our liability in respect of any claim is limited to the value of the booking in question.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.
